Our Dogs
Killoeter Kyla ("Poppy") - Pedigree
Poppy was bred by Mrs Nell MacBean of Cardross, Argyll and Bute. As well as being a successful show dog, she has given us two successful litters – in July 2007 and November 2008, producing 13 pups in total.
Gentiehun Tain ("Rannoch") - Pedigree
Gentiehun Tain is our stud dog from Poppy's first litter in 2007. He was sired by Fritzen’s Rannoch, a German import owned by Mrs MacBean. Like his mother he has had success in the showring, winning junior dog titles at the Hound Association of Scotland in April 2008, the Stafford Open Show in August 2008 and the Scottish Kennel Club show the same month.
In October 2009 Rannoch won his first RCC at South Wales under Mrs Betina Adams who commented "lovely hound, excellent in type, classic masculine head with strong jaw, lovely length of neck into very well laid back shoulder, correct length & return of upper arm, correct length to foreleg, slight spring to pastern, good well knuckled feet, best front assembly in class, lovely topline with good slope over croup into nice strong tail, in excellent hard muscled condition, nice ribbing with plenty of heart & lungroom, good width of second thigh, plenty of length from hip into well let down hocks, shorter coupled than CC winner but very balanced, moved so very well & a joy to see, covered plenty of ground effortlessly with good forward reach. RCC, am sure he will have a bright future"
Gentiehun Tain has qualified for Crufts for life and is available for stud to selected bitches.
Gentiehun Mia-May (“Mini”) - Pedigree
Rannoch’s litter sister Mini has also had some success in the showring. In July 2009 she won Best in Breed and Group 4 at the Open Show in Dundee.
In November 2008 Poppy gave birth to a litter of seven, sired by Lyart Yes Minister ShCM. From this litter we kept two bitches:

Gentiehun Double Jeopardy (“Foxy”) - Pedigree
Jacobite Rosanne to Gentiehun ("Sheila") - Pedigree
Sheila was born in February 2009 and joined us from the Jacobite kennels in Victoria, Australia in December that year. After showing significant promise in the showring down under, this is a photo of her at her first show in the UK on Monday 28th December at the Livingston Canine Society at Bathgate, where she came second in the Open category behind our Rannoch under Mrs E Calikes.
Stop Press - New Litter of Pups
We have just had a litter of puppies, sired by our very own Gentiehun Tain. The dam is Tartraven Rosaidh - Pedigree
The pups will be ready to go to their new homes in late March 2010 at the earliest, so please Contact Sue for enquiries or to register your interest.
We exported Gentiehun Prince Charlie ("Chas") to the Jacobite kennels in Australia from Poppy's last litter and we are delighted to hear he is already showing genuine promise in the showring – winning several shows down under.
Other Dogs
Although we love deerhounds, our pack includes a few other breeds too.
Tarka, our grand old lady lurcher, particularly enjoys watching the younger dogs hare round the coursing track.
