Gentiehun Deerhounds are select breeders and exhibitors of deerhounds, from the heart of Scotland – rural Perthshire. Our name comes from the old Scots "gentie" meaning graceful, and "hun" meaning hound. As well as owning, showing and breeding Scottish Deerhounds we organise and run Scotland’s only regular deerhound lure coursing events.
Gentiehun Tain (aka Rannoch) makes a stunning end to the John Lewis Xmas advert 2010.
For those who wish to know more about the history of these magnificent dogs I have included a page on some history of the breed.
We also run Dog Tails – our successful mobile dog grooming company, helping to keep our pack of dogs fed, and occasional meals for the "staff": Sue and Kevin Rose and our son Christopher.
Sue has owned dogs all her life. Her first was an Afghan Hound and that started off her love of dogs and hounds in particular. She now has over 30 years experience, her own successful mobile dog grooming business, and attends as many courses and seminars as possible to keep up to date. She has been married to her other love – Kevin – since 1996. Kevin also has a wealth of experience having grown up on a farm with working dogs.
